New Gesture Achieved: Window Shopping Demo!

My friends and I have just established a window shopping system. The idea of the demo is that costumers could scroll the list of merchandise outside windows, or even place an order outside retail stores. The display is a 42-inch TV set, the same as those we have in our living rooms. The magic results from the bezels of the screen, wherein lies gesture sensing sensors. The User Interface we designed here is in a way that the catalogue moves accordingly with our gestures. We also designed a click gesture, so that costumers can choose to open the page of certain item, get more information, and put the item into the shopping bag.

The 3D gesture sensing system can achieve an accurate X-Y resolution, and a swipe and click gesture at a maximum of 50 cm distance.

Celebrate Princeton Invention!

I am presenting the 3D gesture control system again! So happy! 

The event was held yesterday afternoon at Princeton University. I delivered control gestures to academia audience. I explained to them briefly the construction of our demo board and the working principles of our screen. Their active participation and useful feedback inspired me to devote more efforts in improving this control system.

Unforgetable Experience @ Touch Gesture Motion Conference

As a team member, I attended the Touch Gesture Motion Conference held in Austin from Oct. 28^th  to 30^th. 

I demoed gesture map control and discussed with conference attendees from companies including Dell and HP. Our gesture control screen attracted lots of audience. I taught them basic control gestures and encouraged them to try 3D control themselves. They were extremely excited when they dragged the map and did accurate zoom-in and zoom-out gestures. Some told me that they felt like they were James Bond! 

Austin is a nice city, with quite a lot trees and flowers along the streets. I thought the weather would be too dry for plants. However, the colorful city totally changed my fake impression! On the last day of the conference, I went to one of Austin's best BBQ restaurants with my team colleagues. Love it!

わたしのふゆやすみはとてもおもしろかったです、ともだちとメキシコへいきましたから。メキシコのうみはとてもきれかったです、みずはとてもあおかったですから。てんきはよかったですから、しゃしんをたくさんとりました。

わたしはうみでおよぎました。きれいのさかながいろいろありました。

わたしたちもChichen Itzaへいきました。Chichen Itzaのまえにしゃしんをとりました。

メキシコのりょうりはおいしかったてす。あのりょうりのながでさかながいちばんすきでした。そして、くだものはとてもあまかったです。

りょこうはとてもたのしかったです。もいちどいきたいですね！

This is my first semester here in the US., at Columbia University. Thank you all for such a wonderful semester. にほんごのクラスはすこしむずかしいですが、とてもたのしいですね！そして、みなさんはとてもかわいいです。

二十ねんごのわたし

わたしはコロンビアだいかぐのドクターの学位をもらいました。そして、しゅじんと中国へかえりました。それから、ペキンだいがくで中国の文学をおしえます。わたしも文学のけんきゅうしゃです。しゅじんはエンジニアです。だいがくのせんもんはエンジニアリングですから。しゅじんは会社があります。しごとはとてもいそがしいですが、たのしいです。


かぞくは四人です。しゅじんとおとこのことおんなのこがいます。そして、わたしのりょうしんとしゅじんのりょうしんはげんきです。まいとしなつに、こどもとりょうしんとりょこうをします。なつやすみがありますから。でも、しゅじんはいきません。しごとはいそがしいですから。きょねん、日本へいきました。りょうしんは日本りょうりがとてますきでした。らいねん、フンラスへかいものにいきたいです。わたしのせいかつがすきです！
